Crossing the Chasm

How do I move from a place of suffering to a place of purpose?

Messages of Comprehension

How Can Suffering Have a Purpose?

If depression is a medical condition, why do we feel so bad about it? Is it because Satan is trying to use it to defeat the work God wants to do within our lives? Yes, it is!

Our Understanding of Heaven is Unique

We have unique insight what depression does, so we can understand that God's promises will be fulfilled in heaven.

Denying Struggle

Despite all evidence indicating it, many people will deny that we're struggling. In most cases, it's not that they don't care, it's that acknowledging someone else's pain may hit too close to home for their own.

What Do I Offer?

Satan tells us that only people with distinct, valued, marketable gifts have something to offer the world. God tells us that He's given us many gifts and abilities and calls us to put them into His service.

Precious Time

It can feel so uncomfortable being with someone that's experiencing severe depression. We don't know what to think, say, or how to act. But people in that state don't need us to be practitioners and solve their problems, they need us to show them that we love them. We do this to honor God.

My (un)Righteous Anger

Satan tells us anger is something we're entitled to and that it's liberating for us. But if we endeavor to understand why we're really angry, we usually realize we're defying God's will and plans.

Proper Expectations

There's a lot in the bible that seems wholy unrealistic for someone in the midst of despair from depression. But the same skewed perspective from my brain's chemical imbalance is the skewed perspective that leads me to believe God is talking about earthly, temporary terms. The capacities He gives us are NOT based on our circumstances.

Love on God's Terms

Loving someone in the midst of struggle means different things to different people, but to God it means one thing: SELFLESSNESS.

We love them because God loves us and He sacrificed Himself for us. He expects us to love others that way. The kicker is that even when it seems foreign to our needs, it actually feels better that way.

Keeping Perspective
